Welcome
and thank you for visiting. Since
2004 I
have been creating
hand-carved ceramic
trompe l'oeil tree
sculptures in the tradition of ancient Yixing, China.
Check out the
newly updated trompe l'oeil Gallery where you can see examples
of hand-carved ceramic trompe l'oeil tree sculptures from the new
Birch series which was an award-winning sellout hit at the
2008 Smithsonian Craft Show.
There are also
plenty of examples from the original Forest for the Trees
weathered log series in there as well.
In
the latest news: Hot off the presses AmericanStyle,
a top art collector magazine, featured two trompe l'oeil birch pieces
in their August 2009 Emerging Artist issue.
In
other news, two pieces have been selected for inclusion in the highly
selective 62nd Rochester-Finger Lakes Exhibition a at the
Memorial Art Gallery at the University of Rochester, NY. And the
Sassy Birch Teapot was named a 2009 NICHE Award Finalist
in NICHE magazine's annual national competition.
As always, I
look forward to hearing from you.
