I began the new series of ceramic trompe l'oeil birch trees as the snow was falling during the winter of 2008. They have been a blast to make and were extremely popular right from the beginning.

I premiered the birch trompe l'oeil teapots and vessels at the 2008 Smithsonian Craft Show. On the second day exhibitors cast ballots to select three of their colleagues for the Exhibitors' Choice Awards. I received the Bronze Award, which was quite a thrill as a first-time exhibitor.

Below are many sample Birch sculptures, along with pieces from the original Forest for the Trees weathered log series. While each is a one-of-a-kind piece, most styles can be commissioned to add to your collection. Contact me at eric@ericserritella.com for details.
